The daffodil ball, Samuel Dong and I. In wonderland.

” This year’s edition of the Daffodil Ball will be all about Alice in Wonderland, to celebrate it 150 th anniversary. It will be inspired by the iconic book, the movies and the surrealist Ball given by Marie-Hélène de Rothschild in Paris in 1972.” Explained Alison Silcoff, the producer of the Daffodil Ball. This famous event gathers every year around 700 guests and growing to support the Canadian Cancer Society & to raise awareness about Cancer. Alison Silcoff is woman full of surprises, probably the most creative events producer in Canada. You will know why tomorrow if you follow me on twitter (@Fatizzed) while I will diffuse the event on live). Just to give you a small avant-goût of the event, the different spaces of the windsor ballroomwill be festively decorated according to different aspects of the story. ‘‘Des décors dignes des films Burton et quelques descriptifs dans les livres…” Confessed a good source. From the Chapelier fou settings to the surrealist Eat me/drink me menu, no details have been left out.  I can’t say more, I invite you to travel with me tomorrow to another  land, a wonderland, from 7H00 pm.  ”Don’t be late ”.

Fashion Wonderland

Tomorrow, I am going to wear a Samuel Dong Gown so I went last monday to the maison mère to choose it. It was very difficult to find the one, I looooved them all. Samuel Dong is among my most cherished designers here in Montreal. I was always in Awe in front of his romantic fashion shows, the volumes in some of his dresses or the retro cuts on some others. As a journalist/blogger, I can’t allow myself to wear very extravagant dresses – I just admired them from far instead. But I have to tell you, I was lost on a sea of fabulous haute couture dresses and each one amazed me. I really enjoyed the afternoon I spent with his team, they are extraordinaire. Anyhow, time to introduce you five dresses from his collections I tried on, that I tought were in harmony with the theme of the ball.

Who are we?

The Montreal Fashion Blog aims to cover the hottest headlines that shape up the fashion scene of the city. In order to create a stronger bound between the population and Montreal local talents, we love to update our readers on what is really going on in the city: in the runway, the ateliers, the boutiques, the streets and the parties. I am particularly supportive of local fashion, so you’ll find that I mention recurrently Montreal designers & boutiques. This is because I came to the conclusion that local products are much more worthy in many levels.
